"For He who is Mighty has done great things for me and holy is His Name.."

For me, the impetus to attend daily mass at my local church was due to Hallow. I started listening to meditations and prayers on Hallow in October 2023 to avoid a tough conversation that I thought would arise. The conversation never arose but the time spent on Hallow was slowly but surely changing me or converting me, a cradle Catholic, to someone who really embraced the faith and would not be kept away from the Eucharist unless I had no choice.

During the Easter season of 2024, Hallow and Saints Alive made one of their “challenges” something you can sign up for daily meditations and this one was for kids but I was intrigued. It was called, “Eucharist Alive” to share that , “Jesus ia alive in the Eucharist!”. Now, mind you, I have known about Bl Carlo Acutis (soon to be Saint) for many years. In 2020, I watched his canonization with my children (it was a global pandemic and they were bored so they watched with me). My son picked Carlo to be his Confirmation Saint in 2023. I and my family have visited his Eucharistic Miracles display at local churches. None of this was new to me.

But, the delivery was. In making these “Eucharist Alive” meditations, Saints Alive made like radio style dramas of some of the many Eucharistic Miracles that Bl Carlo traveled to see and documented for his website and for the traveling display. The one that got me to my core and made me make it a point to receive Jesus in the Eucharist in the Holy Mass daily was the episode of May 20, 2024 called, “Miracle of Buenos Aires”. The story was that Bl Carlo Acutis was in hospital and evangelizing the doctor with the tale of the (relatively) recent miracle in Buenos Aires where the Eucharist bled and was examined by a famous NYC Cardiologist and found to be heart tissue with characteristics of living tissue.

Wow. Just wow. Bron and raised a Catholic, attended Catholic school for all of my education (elementary, High School, University, Graduate School) and it never really hit me that this is Jesus. I mean I think I knew but it did not matter to me until I heard this dramatization of Bl Carlo Acutis telling about why the Eucharist is Jesus. Bl Carlo Acutis spent his short life advocating for and wanting to always be close to Jesus. I hope I can try to do the same.

I cannot tell you how much I recommend Hallow. Check it out.

Fiat.
